Rump-Fed Ronion Images
For the performance, I created a life-size photo cut out sculpture of Donald Trump, which folds into a backpack in order to pass through security, and unfolds to sit upright in a chair. The teeth pop in and out for feeding purposes.
For my Columbia MFA thesis exhibition, I installed the video as an installation between two elevators, referencing the elevators at Trump Tower. Alongside the video, I made minimalist ketchup pieces using plastic drop cloth strips and ketchup, a subtle intervention into the new Renzo Piano architecture in which we were showing. The resulting multi-media installation, Rump-fed Ronion, uses the site of Trump Tower against itself, undermining the authority and power of cult personality.

My first large-scale project involved a constellation of works infiltrating Trump Tower NY, critiquing Trump’s self-described notion of “success.” I staged a performance in the food court of the tower in which I force-fed a life-size photo cut out of Trump until I was stopped and forcibly removed from the building by security. For the performance, I wore a subtle disguise of old age special effects makeup and matching bulbous noses.
